Hey Everyone,
Well, It has been over 15 months now, and almost 2000 hits on this site..  We have made some new friends, and have had some fun....  BUT.......   Due to the lack of participation in activities, and no funds to advertise to draw more people in, I have made the decision to close down Starbrite......   It has been a learning experience, and alot of time invested by myself and others, but it just cant grow without advertising..  SO here we are at the crossroads, and it is time to see where God will take us next...   It is a shame that the churches in this area cant pull together into the one body they are suppose to be, and have a singles group that would encompass all christian singles in the 30+ age range... It is such a needed ministry that the churches continue to ignore..  Unless you have been widowed or divorced, it is hard for someone to imagine the pain and loneliness that we all face....  It is unlike any pain you have ever experienced.. And I have had my share of differant types of pain including losing a child...    I will post the activities that we have for June, and then after that I will just maintain the web site until its subscription ends in February....  If you have an event that you would like others to join you on, email it to me using the form on the " host an activity" page, and I will post it on the web site...   If there is a church, or group of churches that would like to carry this ministry on, please email me, and we will see if an arrangement can be made to carry this on...  I already have connections with christian singles groups in KC so that events can be shared between all....  It was a joy to serve you, and I pray that God will bless each and everyone that passes here...  Have a blessed journey....
In Christ,
Joe

Contentment.... is not the fullfillment of what you want, but the realization of what you already have...........

New Idea??     Well, since we have this site for awhile, what would you think if we turn it into a singles community bulletin board???  People and churches could post their singles activities on here for all singles to partake in.. If you have an outing you want others to join you on, post it.... If your church has a singles event or something of interest to singles, they can post it.. What do you think???   Thanks for your input......    Joe

Spiritual Gifts       1 Cor. 12:4 - 11
"There are differant kinds of gifts, but the same spirit.
There are differant kinds of service, but the same Lord.
There are differant kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.
Now to each one the manifestation of the spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same spirit.
To another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one spirit,
to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in differant kinds of tongues, and still another the interpretation of tongues.
All these are the work of one and the same spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines......"

Basically, everyone has a gift given to them by the spirit. Not everyone recieves the same gift as we see in the passage.  As Christians, we need to know what gifts we have recieved , and glorify God in using them for His kingdom..  It may be as simple as the gift of helping others, or counseling, intercedeing in prayer, or many other things.. Usually your gift is something that comes natural to you, that you have an exceptional insight into...  Dont waste your gift, use it to expand Gods kingdom..  Just as when you give a gift to someone else, it brings you great joy to know that they are using the gift well, and that it is serving a purpose in their life, as to not at all...  Make good use of the gift God has given you, so that it may bring joy to your heavenly father.....    Amen
